The collection of locomotives, wagons, coaches and other railway artefacts at Bo’ness is recognised through the Scottish Government Recognition Scheme as being of national significance.
Whilst proceeds from our steam railway and museum at Bo’ness and our scenic railtours help with the daily operating costs, these cannot meet the additional costs of various projects which are one-off but are vital to the railway such as installing a platform at Manuel, locomotive overhauls, major maintenance of historic carriages and other substantial projects.
Please click here to make a safe and secure donation to the Scottish Railway Preservation Society and and help us restore and preserve railway history for everyone to enjoy. Thank you very much!

Dear Visitor
“This hidden gem is only 40 minutes drive from Glasgow and Edinburgh. The staff are really friendly and looked after us as we boarded a beautiful steam train, we saw heritage diesels too. The sights, smells and sounds really took us back in time. After a browse around the excellent Museum of Scottish Railways and a bite to eat in the Station Buffet we all agreed we would recommend it to everyone and we would definitely be back.”
