Your locomotives for the weekend are :
Our special guest, Furness Railway No’20
Our first confirmed guest for the Gala is the 152 year old Furness Railway No’20 which will be making its first visit to Scotland for the Gala weekend. Although we don’t own any matching period stock we intend to run No’20 with our two restored Caledonian Coaches over the course of the weekend. A rare chance to run in these beautifully restored coaches behind an equally beautifully restored Victorian loco.
Morayshire, BR no 62712
The Gala will be 62712’s “Morayshire” last Gala appearance before sadly being withdrawn for overhaul. Morayshire an ever popular loco with visitors and crews alike will work the evening Beer ex’s on the Saturday night along with other trains throughout the weekend and hopefully have a fond farewell in a true gala style.
NCB No.7 (WD 75254)
War Department J94 No’ 75254,
National Coal Board J94 No’19
As well as National Coal Board (Kinneil colliery) No’6
Guest Loco LMS Black 5 44871 is making a welcome return visit on Sunday to Bo’ness courtesy of Ian Riley and subject to availability – most appreciated. It is seen here in October 1990 outside the Bo’ness Signalbox.
More at Bo’ness
Enjoy the site at Bo’ness via the new Visitor Trail, starting beside the Model Railway display at Bo’ness,a popular attraction for visitors young and old, and ending at The Museum of Scottish Railways, Scotland’s largest railway museum. Take a fantastic journey into the past and explore three large buildings filled with locomotives, carriages, wagons and other railway artefacts. Discover how railways transformed the lives of our ancestors. There is plenty to keep everyone entertained. See Scotland’s only Royal Saloon coach, learn why the fish van has a sloping floor, come face to face with a mechanical horse and much more. Our Station Buffet will be open on both days for breakfast (served until 11.30am) hot and cold drinks, snacks and full meals. There is plenty of free on site parking.
Download the timetables above when available and find out times, locomotives, stock and which platform the trains leave from so you don’t miss a thing. Please note that whilst we endeavour to run to the published timetable, the SRPS reserve the right to change parts of the timetable at any point due to unforeseen circumstances.

“This hidden gem is only 40 minutes drive from Glasgow and Edinburgh. The staff are really friendly and looked after us as we boarded a beautiful steam train, we saw heritage diesels too. The sights, smells and sounds really took us back in time. After a browse around the excellent Museum of Scottish Railways and a bite to eat in the Station Buffet we all agreed we would recommend it to everyone and we would definitely be back.”
