SRPS Youth Group up for Sunday Mail Young Scot Award
The star studded awards will showcase the finest young talent Scotland has to offer, including our very own SRPS Youth Group and will celebrate their outstanding achievements.
Nominated for a Sunday Mail Young Scot award in the Heritage Hero category sponsored by Historic Scotland, two of our members will be heading to Glasgow to represent the SRPS Youth Group at the award ceremony which is being televised on STV on Sunday 21 April at 10pm. This year’s event has a star-studded line-up including X Factor star Jahmene Douglas and Misha B, Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon, cast members from TOWIE and Waterloo Road and Scotland’s own musical sensation, Nina Nesbitt, to name but a few. Here’s a sneak peak of the event http://shows.stv.tv/video/2303940090001/ .
For us, the real stars of the show are our SRPS Youth Group who are the future of our railway and we thank them for their hard work and dedication over the last couple of years since the group began. Watch this space for more news next week!
“This hidden gem is only 40 minutes drive from Glasgow and Edinburgh. The staff are really friendly and looked after us as we boarded a beautiful steam train, we saw heritage diesels too. The sights, smells and sounds really took us back in time. After a browse around the excellent Museum of Scottish Railways and a bite to eat in the Station Buffet we all agreed we would recommend it to everyone and we would definitely be back.”
