Father’s Day 2019 – steam trains, vintage vehicles and afternoon tea
There’s nothing like a departure by steam so bring Dad to Bo’ness on Father’s Day, Sunday 16th June. As well as steam trains and Scotland’s largest railway museum, there will be an array of vintage vehicles on display.
A steam train will leave Bo’ness at 10.45, 12.10, 14.10 and 15.35
Standard fares apply, £10 Adult, Concessions £9, Child (5-15) £6 and family tickets (2+3) £28 with under 5s going free. Add a visit to our museum on to this for only £2 for adults and children go free in to the museum. Your ticket is valid all day so you can enjoy as many train journeys as you like and there is no need to pre-book.
Getting here by FREE vintage shuttle bus
With thanks to our good friends at PreScoBus, we are delighted to offer visitors a FREE vintage bus from Linlithgow to Bo’ness Railway Station for Father’s Day. Click here for timetable.
Bus pick up/drop off will be on the High St, Linlithgow, the stop just after Platform 3 pub.
Even if you don’t need transport to or from Linlithgow, hope aboard for a circular run from Bo’ness to Linlithgow and back.
What else is there to do and see?
You can enjoy a walk along our visitor trail with brass rubbing boards which starts beside the Model Railway to our Museum of Scottish Railways. The Museum is open from 11am to 4.30pm with last admission at 4pm and is full of coaches, locomotives and lots of other interesting memorabilia to interest everyone.
The vintage vehicles will arrive from 10.30am in front of Bo’ness station.

Our Gift Shop is open at Bo’ness station for all things trains! There are plenty of souvenirs to suit all pockets, what will you get for Daddy? If you are looking for something a bit more special why not treat him to a Season Ticket for unlimited visits for 12 months, available to purchase at the Booking Office at Bo’ness Station.

Hungry or Thirsty
Whatever the time of day you will be able to find homemade, locally sourced produce in our Station Buffet. Located at Bo’ness Station you will be sure of a warm welcome. From freshly baked scones with jam & cream or a refreshing ice lolly to a delicious full meal, there is something for every appetite.
Remember to visit our On Train Buffet, available on every train for crisps and sweets, hot and cold drinks including wine and locally brewed real ale.
