Enjoy a journey on our Class 126 DMU in 2018

On several yellow timetable days in 2018 our DMU will be operating the last train service of the day at 15.35, subject to      availability, planned dates are 19th & 20th May, 9th & 10th June, 21st & 22nd July, 1st,15th & 16th September and 20th & 21st October but please check back here for updates.

Our unit was the first DMU (Diesel Multiple Unit) in the UK to be preserved on account of its historical significance, and although we did not expect this at the time, it would become the only complete example of the Swindon designs to survive. The first generation DMU designs owed a great deal to the pioneering work of the GWR at Swindon in developing diesel railcars.

Due to the historical nature of this train, there are no toilets on board so we recommend you use the facilities at Bo’ness in advance of travel. Unfortunately there is no dedicated wheelchair accessible area on this train, apologies for any inconvenience caused.

As there is not an on train buffet on this service, you are welcome to bring food and drinks purchased at the Station Buffet on board to enjoy on the move.

As with all events using heritage vehicles, the SRPS reserves the right to vary timetable and motive power without notice due to operational needs.
