SOS: Support Our SRPS
The Scottish Railway Preservation Society, a registered chairty and operator of the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway, Museum of Scottish Railways and SRPS Railtours, has been forced to temporarily cease all operations due to the current Coronavirus pandemic.
Coming after the early part of the year when our trains are not running and the Museum closed, our finances are already at their lowest level. We are therefore appealing for donations to help keep the essential services of the Society operational at a time when, unexpectedly, we have no income.
Notwithstanding our large volunteer workforce, we have many ongoing costs and expenses which do not stop when we’re not operational. The Society has already halted all major capital projects and undertaken severe measures to cut costs, however, the longer that we remain closed the greater our financial losses. Donating to our General Fund allows the Society’s Trustees to apply your donation where the greatest need is.
You can donate to our ‘SOS: Support our Scottish Railway Preservation Society’ appeal online through Virgin Money Giving:
“This hidden gem is only 40 minutes drive from Glasgow and Edinburgh. The staff are really friendly and looked after us as we boarded a beautiful steam train, we saw heritage diesels too. The sights, smells and sounds really took us back in time. After a browse around the excellent Museum of Scottish Railways and a bite to eat in the Station Buffet we all agreed we would recommend it to everyone and we would definitely be back.”
