Outlander Location Themed Cycle Route
Now the weather is getting better why not get out and about on your bike and discover the great cycle route network we have in our area.
Local @Twitter user, @4652 Paces, has put together this #Outlander location themed route. It’s a 33 mile long loop from Bo’ness taking in our railway and museum along with other locations used in Outlander such as Blackness Castle, Hopetoun House, Midhope Castle, Linlithgow Palace, Muiravonside Country Park, Callendar House and the Kelpies.
Find out more about Outlander locations from VisitScotland here.
Use our shiny new cycle rack gifted to us by Jak Scot, Men’s 4 x200m Freestyle Relay silver medallist at the Commonwealth Games and of course you can get a refreshment in our Station Buffet and use the other facilities on site.
Click here to see a flyby of the route.
It took @4652paces 3 hours 45 mins – how long will it take you?
Thanks for sharing this @4652 Paces!
“This hidden gem is only 40 minutes drive from Glasgow and Edinburgh. The staff are really friendly and looked after us as we boarded a beautiful steam train, we saw heritage diesels too. The sights, smells and sounds really took us back in time. After a browse around the excellent Museum of Scottish Railways and a bite to eat in the Station Buffet we all agreed we would recommend it to everyone and we would definitely be back.”
